Four years, three months and two weeks after Walt Disney World opened with only the Magic Kingdom (October 1, 1971), Space Mountain opened January 15, 1975 and a month later Pansoph arrived in the Magic Kingdom for the first time.

There were long waiting lines then and there can be long lines now.   But now, Space Mountain is on the FASTPASS® system, which works great.   All you do is go to Space Mountain and the FASTPASS® sign is easy to spot.   Follow easy instructions, get your FASTPASS® and NOTE THE TIME ON THE TICKET.   When your time comes, go to Space Mountain's FASTPASS® return lane and you will be on the Mountain will little or no wait.
