Merchant Building

Germany   World Showcase at EPCOT

Things are always looking up at Walt Disney World, that's a given.   So you should look up, too.   It doesn't take any time to look up and it is always amazing to examine Disney's attention to detail.   The top floor of this shop in Germany is no exception.   The building is designed to represent a medieval German merchant hall, the Kaufhaus of Freiburg.   On close inspection, you will see that each armored figure is different and realistic enough that you would almost expect them to move.   The statues are of three Hapsburg Emperors.

Das Kaufhaus, first on your right, features hand-made Biersteins and Mugs.   And the artist Jutta Levasseur paints Disney and German scenes on Eggshells.   (This is also the shop were one can find cigarettes and medicine.)
